Ed was commissioned to create a series of portraits that would make up a medal of honor to be presented to the famous comedian for his years of service entertaining the troops.  This World War II era portrait of Mr. Hope is Ed’s favorite of the series.

Jesus

(Black and White Charcoal on Gray Paper)

Ed was commissioned by Holy Name Church, Wayzata, MN to create a prayer card that would promote a successful distribution of the Jesus Film Project in the Twin Cities area.  He chose the video’s cover as a model for the work.  The prayer cards were snatched up so quickly that he was requested to make prints available, which also disappeared over a short period of time.

The Good Samaritan

(Colored Pencil on Gray Matte Board)

Commissioned as a gift to Father Arnold for his 70th birthday, this approximately 4’ x 6’ colored pencil drawing hangs in the Good Samaritan hall at Holy Name Church in Wayzata, MN.

Given less than two weeks to complete the project, Ed was having a special frame put together to house the large matte board before even beginning the drawing.  He finished the work and got it into the frame just hours before the morning unveiling.
